Street Food Carnival is a food party not to miss. The celebration of all the great local eats. Street Food Carnival was arranged already late 2014 for the first time at Cable Factory and the concept also took over the streets of Helsinki in 2015. The event has been a success from the start sparkling up the Helsinki food culture. Street food has been booming the past couple of years and it still continues to attract hungry #heleaters with many different options.
This time Street Food Carnival takes over the industrial Suvilahti area which will be a great place for a such festival. The event starts early Friday afternoon and the area is open on both days until 23:00. Both days feature popular music acts such as Atomirotta, Asa, Tuuttimörkö and Elias Gould. Suvilahti area is easily accessible by bike or a metro from Sörnäinen and Kalasatama stations.

There’s a nice selection of different things to eat from raw cakes to sushi and burgers of course. Vendors include familiar places such as Kimchi Wagon and BBQ On Wheels but also fresh newcomers such as Fat Tomato featuring vegetarian and vegan food. Just like at the Street Food Carnival in January the vegetarian dishes are still on the rise as per #heleats chef Joona predicted in his Helsinki Food Trends of 2016 article and this is only the start.
