What’s Cooking Helsinki

Passion for food during the day and local food experience in the evening

What’s Cooking Helsinki Dinner

What’s Cooking Helsinki will be filled with passion for food but we start from the crown of the day – the #heleatsmenu dinner experience. We are proud to be a partner of the dinner event together with Five Points Brothers which produces events, food and beer. Last year we created a local food experience #heleatsmenu to showcase all the great local producers and products. Back then we organized a small event next door of Kellohalli at Flavour Studio. Now we will take over the actual Kellohalli at the foodie district of Helsinki Teurastamo.

#heleatsmenu – created by locals

#heleatsmenu is a local experience. A carefully selected group of 26 foodies have so far had a chance to try out the new exciting #heleatsmenu. The great feedback we received pushed us to take the next step to bring #heleatsmenu available for everyone. Experience the new #heleatsmenu food journey from Helsinki. Local people, producers and companies will join forces to provide a true local experience. The aim is to celebrate the great local producers and products there are in Helsinki. All of the main ingredients will come from local companies and producers. The catering will be provided by the local Five Points Brothers and the Finnish Top Chef Teemu Laurell.

This time the experience will be taken to whole another level while everyone had a chance to participate in the menu planning. Late February everyone had a chance to contribute to what will the menu include by voting their favorite products and producers. Around 670 votes were given on Facebook and the local companies people voted the most were a local distillery Helsinki Distilling Company, Lihakauppa Roslund meat shop and Helsinki Wildfoods known for their wild food products. Teemu Laurell is responsible for the final menu planning.

What people say about #heleatsmenu

“Pure and local tastes from Helsinki was the main theme of #heleatsmenu event organized by Heleats and Five Points Brothers in August.” studio SMOO

“Menun sisältö perustuu helsinkiläisiltä toimijoilta saatavilla oleviin tuotteisiin sekä paikallisten palautteeseen. Paikalliset halusivat nähdä helsinkiläisessä menussa muun muassa olutta, kalaa ja kahvia.” Fredu Sirviö – Safkatutka

“Ensimmäinen annos piti sisällään kevyesti marinoituja muikkuja, kukkakaalia ja tuoretta tyrniä. Ihanan raikas kombo ja kalan tuoreus pääsi näin simppelissä annoksessa kunnolla esille. Tämän tuoreempaa kalaa tuskin pk-seudulta löytää mistään, Hakaniemen halliin kannattaa suunnata Ekströmin Kalapuodin fisujen äärelle.” Nata – White Trash Disease

“Jos lähiruokaa ja yrittäjyyttä arvostaa, näistä kaupunkimme tuotteista ja toimijoista saa ja pitää pitää melua.” Juulia / Vaimomatskuu
